Staff Data

Introduction

The information provided in this section is related to staff employed by the University. It is based on data extracted from production systems and reported to the government.

The definitions of data elements are DEEWR (the Commonwealth Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations) definitions. The full year data of full-time or part-time staff are "snapshots" as at the census date 31 March whilst the data of casual staff are effective for the relevant calendar year. These data are subject to a rigorous validation process prior to submission to DEEWR on 1 July each year and are approved by DEEWR before being posted on this website.

DEEWR Staff Data Collection

The staff data of all Australian universities follow the same validation and approval process mentioned above, and form the DEEWR staff data collection. This collection facilitates not only reliable internal analyses but forms the basis of reliable comparisons with other Australian universities and enables useful trend monitoring over several years. Furthermore, data derived from the pivot tables are particularly useful for workforce profiles.

For consistency, only statistics based on the DEEWR datasets should be used for external communications or marketing.
