ANU Actual Full Year Load against Targets in 2007

The final submission for the 2007 Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) student data collection was provided at the end of March. Statistical Services has now loaded the data to our datawarehouse and are able to report on ANU's final position for 2007. So how did we go against both our internal targets and against DEEWR's funding targets?

Commonwealth Grants Scheme (CGS) Load

Overall ANU was under-enrolled by only approximately 30 EFTSL (DEEWR target = 6,378 EFTSL; ANU = 6,347 EFTSL) or 0.5%. Correspondingly ANU was above the 99% dollar threshold below which the University can be financially penalised. This is a great outcome coming off a disappointing 2006 where the University was 3% under-enrolled. Even prior to the commencement of semester 2 in 2007, our projections were still showing that ANU could be more than 1% under-enrolled. The strong mid-year undergraduate intake through UAC allowed this position to be substantiallly improved thus ensuring the final position to be within the target range.

DEEWR do not set any obligations on the University to meet its cluster targets except by way of the dollars generated toward the commonwealth contribution amount.
